WHAT IS IT?

HOW CAN IT HELP MY ATHLETE?

Specialized sports chiropractic requires addition education following the 4-year chiropractic education. The program is completed through the Royal Chiropractic College of Chiropractic Sports Sciences (Canada).

 This additional education requires various field hours, hands on clinical hours in a sports rehabilitation setting, and education requirements including courses, written publications, and case reports.  

Some courses included in the education include but are not limited to:

·      Sport Injury management

·      Sports psychology

·      Sport nutrition

·      Sports rounds

·      High performance evaluation and testing

This additional education allows for more precise focused treatment for athletes of all levels, focusing on movement analysis, performance outcomes, injury management, post surgical rehabilitation and return to play decisions.

Dr. Boot has brought this knowledge with her during her time with various sporting teams and organizations providing 1:1 treatment for all levels of athletes. Her primary focus has been with treating hockey players from minor hockey to OHL and NCAA. She has provided sideline coverage in the OJHL for 8+ years as well as various combines, scouting and development tournaments as well as Team Canada East medical in 2018. Currently Dr. Boot has been working with various collegiate and NCAA lacrosse players in their off season.

She is certified as an emergency first responder and provided medical coverage and tournament directives for various sporting events across the province.

Dr. Boot Has signed on to work with The Hamilton Cardinals IBL Baseball team as the Team Chiropractor! Dr. Boot is excited to gain experience in another sport and work with this great group of elite athletes
